George Joseph Ritacco passed away at his home in Toms River on March 16, 2021. Born June 21, 1938, the oldest of four children, George lived most of his early life in Kearny, New Jersey before moving to Toms River in 1969. He was proud of his service in the U.S. Army. George started his career in the banking industry, then moved on to sales where he thrived in both the car and amusement merchandise industries. He was a friend and mentor to so many, often lending a helping hand to strangers. Above all, he loved his family, especially, Maria, who he adored since they first met nearly 60 years ago. Rare was the occasion where he did not speak of how lucky he was to have Maria as his wife. His pride for his children and grandchildren was immeasurable. He was often heard expressing what new accomplishments his kids and grandkids had achieved, and during difficult times was the first to offer them sound advice. He is predeceased by both of his parents, George and Elizabeth Ritacco. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria, his children and their spouses, George and Danielle Ritacco; Lisa and Carmen Gagliano; Michael and Jodi Ritacco; and Robert and Stephanie Ritacco; eight grandchildren; Jack Ritacco, Olivia Ritacco, Elizabeth Ritacco, Marissa Gagliano, Angelina Gagliano, Jacob Ritacco, Eva Ritacco, and Roman Ritacco; as well as his siblings Madelyn Ritacco, Richard Ritacco and his wife Patricia, and Ronald Ritacco. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider a donation in George’s name to Amedisys Foundation (Compassionate Care Hospice) 3854 American Way, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70816. Please note that Carmona Bolen Funeral Home will be adhering to CDC guidelines and all in attendance are required to wear a mask. Please know that if you do not feel comfortable attending the family fully understands and knows your thoughts are with George.
