Iris Denise Stroman

Iris Denise Bigelow was born on January 30, 1962 in New York, NY. She was raised in Toms River, NJ by the late Maggie Cathrine Plezer Mattox and Leonard Mattox who have both predeceased her. She graduated from Central Regional High School in 1980, where she developed lifelong friendships and associations. She worked at Adelphia Cable for 20 plus years as well as a host of other jobs in the community. In her spare time she enjoyed shopping, cooking and eating delicious dishes, watching reality-tv or “trash-tv” as she liked to call it and going to concerts with her love. She met her soulmate on January 27, 1997 in Brooklyn, NY. They became a union in holy matrimony on December 12, 1998, where she would forever be known lovingly as Iris Stroman. She leaves behind to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy her devoted husband, Sydney Stroman of Lanoka Harbor, NJ; her one and only son, Ivan Bigelow of Florida; her beloved daughter Ina Bigelow Swain and husband, Marvin Swain of Florida; her dearest daughter and fiance Ikirin Bigelow and Shakim Williams of Atlanta, Georgia; and the light of her life her beautiful grandchildren Reya and Donovan Swain; Gwendlyon Pelzer, Mama G, as she so lovingly referred to her; two brothers, Kim Pelzer of New York, Richard “Ricky” Pelzer, of Rhode Island, predeceased; three sisters; Sharon Pelzer, Adrienne Pelzer, of New York; Daughn Sage-Pelzer of Atlanta, Georgia; a loving niece/Goddaughter Shanna Pelzer, of NY; as well as a host of cousins, relatives and friends whose lives she would forever change. Well done thy good and faithful servant now go on and take your rest.
