Surrounded by her family, Joan Malter, 90, dearly beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on January 2, 2022. She joins her beloved husband Frank of 70 years in heaven and leaves her daughter Bernadette and William Reed and Sons, Frank and Ruth Malter, Kevin and Gail Malter, Martin Malter, Timothy and Donna Malter and Christopher Malter. She is predeceased by her son Richard Malter. Joan also leaves behind 20 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Joan was raised in Lower Manhattan and was married in 1950 to her beloved husband Frank and lived and raised their children in Fair Lawn, NJ. Following retirement, she and her husband lived in Brick, NJ, Wilmington, NC and finally Naples, FL. In addition to raising her seven children, Joan worked as a personal home health nurse for 30 years. Her real passion was her family. Her kindness was legendary giving shelter and food to people who needed it most. She was the heart and soul of the family possessing an amazing energy and penchant for life and happiness. She was an ardent card player with a competitive drive to win. She was a living angel loved by all and her spirit will be greatly missed. Memorial services will be scheduled in NJ. In Naples, Florida there will be a mass at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 10:00am
