John A. Zator

John A. Zator, 97, of Whiting, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away on May 1, 2022. John was born in Hempstead, Long Island, NY on November 13, 1924 to the late Karol and Karolina (nee: Ziemba) Zator. John was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Whiting, NJ. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus # 9850 and a life member of VFW Post 9593. John was a proud WWII Navy Veteran, a volunteer fireman with the South Hempstead Fire Department, a previous parishioner, usher, and sexton of St. Ladislaus R.C. Church in Hempstead, NY and a member of the Grumman Retiree Club of Whiting, NJ. John is preceded in death by his parents Karol and Karolina, his sisters Ann and Jean, and his brothers Stanley and Frank. Surviving John is his loving wife of 72 years Dorothy Zator, his children Lawrence and his wife Annette of Monroe, GA, John Jr. and his wife Diane of Lido Beach, NY and Kristina Vitale and late husband Robert of Mechanicsburg, PA, his 9 grandchildren (Michael, Christopher, Lawrence Jr, Elizabeth, John, Katie, Sheree, Joseph, Robert) and 3 great grandchildren (Breanna, Makenna, Brooks). Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church on (Fri., 5/6 @ 10:45). Entombment will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s name to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Manchester Twp NJ 08759.
