"Joseph Zatorski, a WW-2 Veteran and New Jersey resident all his life, owner-operator of the former South Toms River’s iconic Dover Deli, and born of parents who immigrated here from Poland around the turn of the 20th century, sadly passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. He was 94. Joseph is predeceased by his wife, Shirley Gene, and now both are survived by their daughter Shirley-Jo Strader, their son-in-law Rick Strader, and their cherished granddaughter Erica Strader – who is missing her beloved pop-pop the most. (Grandma Shirley Gene passed before Erica was born.] Joseph is also survived by his deer sister-in-law, Hazel Gillespie, and many nieces and nephews. Pop-pop Joe was indeed one of the most kindest, sweetest, gentlest, loving, and most patient souls we have ever known. We could not have asked for a greater dad and granddad than him! Rest in Peace much beloved and precious pop-pop! So dad, please pass along our love and regards to mom. We look forward to reuniting with you both one day in Heaven! We love and miss you both so much! Love, Shirley-Jo, Rick and Erica"
