Michael T. Monahan

October 2, 1957 - January 28, 2022

Michael Monahan,64,passed away peacefully in his home on January 28, 2022 in Whiting ,NJ with Barbara by his side. He fought a courageous battle for five years and God called to say it is time to rest. We were blessed to have had him in our lives. To know him was to love him . Michael was born in Scranton Pennsylvania to the late Frank Monahan and Lorraine McKenna Monahan . He was a 1974 graduate of Toms River High School South, and a parishioner of St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Whiting . Michael spent most of his life in the Toms River area as a carpenter in the building trades, He later found his ideal job working for Zack Morris. Michael was always willing to come to the aid of anyone who needed him . He was a kind, genuine ,good humored man who loved his family and enjoyed his friends . Michael loved fishing and skiiing in his younger years and in the last few years he found enjoyment sitting on his patio and barbequing. He is forever in our hearts and will be truly missed. He is survived by his wife Barbara Donito, his mother Helen Monahan , Toms River, sisters Sharon Monahan , Philadelphia , Pa , Coleen & Joe Wantuch, Barnegat , NJ , a brother Frank Monahan, Toms River and nephew Christopher Monahan , Florida. He is also survived by his in laws Maria and Santo DiBenedetto, South Toms River, and John and Danice Donito , Galloway Township , NJ and their families . Visitation will be on Saturday February 5 from 2-6 PM , with funeral service at 530PM
