Rene Feliciano
May 26, 2021
Rene Feliciano, age 72, of Toms River, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 26 at home. Born in Moca, Puerto Rico, he lived in New York City prior to moving to Toms River 30 years ago. Rene began working at Con-Edison in New York City – a job he was very proud of. Upon moving to New Jersey, he was employed as a diesel mechanic with New Jersey Transit for many years before retiring. Rene was an excellent handyman. He could always be found in his back yard working or enjoying the numerous birds he enticed there with bird feeders and bird houses. If Rene wasn’t in his back yard, he was sitting at Island Heights with his wife enjoying the river and the breeze. His family was the most important part of his life. He was a wonderful husband, father and abuelo. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Rene is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Aurora; children, Ronnie Feliciano and his partner, Leslie Peploe, Carol Illiano and her husband, Giuseppe, and Karen Feliciano and her husband, Kris Davis; brothers, Beno, Efrain, Edgardo, Angel, sister Carmen and niece Carmen who was like a sister to him. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Cameron Feliciano, Colton Davis, Carson Davis, Lukas Illiano and Rene Illiano, who is due to be born in August. Rene was predeceased by his parents Pablo and Secundina Feliciano and brothers, Oscar, Jose, and Amador. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 1 from 12:00PM to 2:00PM with a funeral service at 1:30PM at Carmona Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St., Toms River. Interment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park.
