Theodore Edward Gucwa, age 96, of Whiting, died Sun., Jan. 12 at Crestwood Manor, Whiting. Born in Brooklyn, he lived there, Bay Ridge, Manhattan, Berlin, Germany and New Carrollton, MD prior to retiring and moving to Whiting. He was employed as a Director with the US Department of Agriculture in Beltsville, MD. He was very active in his Crestwood Village 6 community, belong to the Polish Club, German Club, Golf Club, Aviation Club and the Deerfield Singles. He also belonged to the American Legion Post 965, Brooklyn and Knights of Columbus of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Whiting. He was predeceased by his dear wife, Inge; parents, Stephen and Anna Gucwa; brothers, Joseph and Stephen Jr. and sisters, Mary Smykal, Florence Carlin and Anna Falencki. Ted is survived by his daughter, Denise G. Biggs; brothers, John and Bernard Gucwa; 2 grandchildren, Mark Biggs and Elise Pyron and 4 great grandchildren, Dominic and Mason Biggs and Kyra and Devin Pyron. A memorial visitation will be held Sat., Jan. 18 from 1-3pm with a funeral service at 2pm at Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 66 Lacey Rd., Whiting. Memorial contributions can be made to Deborah Heart & Lung Center.
