Therese Trinkle

Therese Sheehan Trinkle, age 93, of Whiting, died Thursday, April 26 at St. Mary’s Rehab Center, Cherry Hill. Born in New York City, she lived in Rumson Toms River and Lacey Township prior to moving to Whiting in 1991. She was employed as a Supervisor with the Ocean County Health Department for many years until retiring. Therese was a daily communicant at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. After raising her children and retiring, she became a babysitting Grandma and enjoyed an active retirement. She was always happy to sit at a diner with family or church friends. Coffee was her solace. Her exacting standards for the bean were legendary: Not one degree less than scalding, freshly brewed, not burnt and frequently refilled. If it cooled, or tasted burnt, she happily emptied the dregs into a water glass, or a potted plant, live or fake. Therese was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Mary Beattie, her first husband, Harold Sheehan; her second husband, Alfred Trinkle; son, Joseph Sheehan and siblings James Beattie, Mary Shea and Catherine Joyce. Therese is survived by her children, Patrick Sheehan and wife, Susan, Gerard Sheehan and wife, Judith, Harold Sheehan Jr and wife, Mary Beth, Mary Ellen Rooney and husband Edward and Frances LoBiondo and husband, George. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Kerry Anne, Kathryn, Dawn, Erin, Brenda, Rebecca, Caroline, George, Gregory, Therese, Julia and Jessica and 5 great grandchildren, Leland, Lila, Lidia, Amelia and George Benjamin. A memorial gathering will be held Sunday from 2-5p.m. at Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 66 Lacey Rd., Whiting. A memorial mass will be held Monday 10:45 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Autism Society.
